Over $1700 Raised for Lung Cancer Awareness Month
Here’s some good news as we inch ever close to Christmas: thanks to your support we were able to raise more than $1700 for Lung Cancer Alliance during November, Lung Cancer Awareness Month.
We first partnered with the Lung Cancer Alliance last year heading into Movember when we learned that Lung Cancer is responsible for more than 25% of all cancer deaths. We wanted to get involved to help raise awareness about the disease. Research on lung cancer is underfunded relative to many other cancers, thought it remains most common cause of cancer-related deaths in the United States. More people die from lung cancer than from colon, breast, and prostate cancers combined.
We wanted to encourage those at risk to go to lungcanceralliance.org and find a Lung Cancer Screening Center in their area because early detection is crucial to increasing chances of survival.
But we also wanted to support the research as best we could. As a small business, we decided to donate a portion of all sales in Movember, when more men are growing beards and mustaches for the first time and searching for quality products to ease the growing pains. We thought it was the best time to raise both awareness and money for the cause, and thanks to you we’ve made a contribution we can be proud of two years running.
Have a Merry Christmas and a happy holiday season, and remember to keep people in need in your thoughts. Help when you can. We can all do a little something to try to make the world a better place.
