The Coldest Supervillains in Comics

The superhero world is packed with cold killers, and we mean ice cold. These are villains with powers derived from winter: ice, snow, and extreme cold. We're sure you can relate. So just for kicks, here's a rundown of the coldest of the cold.

Mr. Freeze

Mr. Freeze may be the most well known cold villain, featuring in many shows, cartoons, and even a Batman movie. To us he'll always be Arnold Schwarzenegger with the cheesy one-liners, like, "You're not sending me to the cooler!"

Captain Cold

Captain Cold is a major enemy of the Flash, and unlike so many heroes and villains, he doesn't have powers. He's just a sharp criminal with a weapon that can make things colder than ice. Absolute zero, in fact.

Killer Frost

Killer Frost was the natural enemy of Firestrom, who had his own comic back in the day but now is best known from the Flash on the CW. She developed the ability to pull heat from victims' bodies as well as emit cold and ice.

Blizzard was an enemy of Iron Man, and a former employee of Tony Stark obsessed with cryogenics in an effort to achieve immortality. He used a cryogenic suit and can shoot freeze rays.

Icicle & Icicle Jr.

Icicle squared off against Green Lantern way back in 1947, being perhaps the first in the long line of both scientists turned cold villains and those using cold guns. His son carried on the family tradition fighting as Icicle Jr. against both Superman and Batman, but he developed actual powers.

And of course, the grandaddy of them all, Old Man Winter. Unlike the rest, this cat is for real as you yourself can attest. And your has suffered his ravages. The only hero who stands a chance is Wonderbeard. So what are you waiting for? Take up the challenge and put a stop to that killer cold with only intensive beard conditioner that can repair and restore your beard in just three minutes.
